How simple, yet majestic!
I would like to try this. We don't have Oak trees here, but a sweet blogging friend sent me some acorns. Could you tell what you did - type of "soil"? Did you soak the nut? Do tell.
Many thanks,
LF

Seeing that acorn brought back so many memories for me from my childhood. When I was six I spent six months in Italy with my grandparents. To keep me busy, I was given the task of gathering acorns which were fed to the pig. Little did I know that a few months later, my friend the pig would be turned into all the tasty things that we all enjoyed.
But I still love acorns and have amassed quite a collection.Thanks.

Acorns are one of my favorite things this time of year. I have never seen one germinate before. How cool. Like lady farmer asked, please do tell how you got it to do that.

Well, it's kind of an expensive recipe because you have to park a semi-junky pickup truck under an oak tree for several weeks. Allow acorn to drop into the truck bed and germinate. Then scoop it up, with decaying leaf matter, and place in a half-pot of potting soil. Place on a sunny step. Good luck with these instructions, and feel free to try some variations!
